The Jefferson Choral Society will hold its 12th annual gigantic indoor yard sale on Saturday, March 8, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The sale is free, open to the public, and will take place at Moose Lodge 715 located at 2307 Lakeside Drive in Lynchburg, VA. Household items including furniture, kitchenware, bed and bath linens, rugs, holiday decorations, picture frames, luggage, knickknacks, books, electronics, and collectibles will be for sale. All proceeds will benefit the choir and its projects.

Golden Gavel Committee Meeting.

Honoring Jr. Past Regent Heather Wade.

This meeting is open to all members, and both Men and Women are encouraged to attend.

The meeting starts promptly at 7pm.

Junior Graduate Regents were first invested with the Green Cap in 1950. The color green was selected because this indicated a college freshman prior to the time of receiving the Cap and Gown.

In 2021 the Jr. Graduate Regent became the Junior Past Regent and the term green cap was changed to Golden Gavel, a name more indicative of the accomplishments of the Senior Regent.

The Golden Gavel brings with it the opportunity to achieve the coveted Cap and Gown of the College of Regents.

It symbolizes the success of both the Chapter and the Senior Regent.

The Golden Gavel Committee Meeting Night is held anytime during the month of January of the same Chapter year in which the Junior Past Regent was invested. The Golden Gavel is only worn during term of office as Junior Past Regent.

Friday November 8, 2024 Kicks off our partnership with CVACL - Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, Inc. and their ELVES for ELDERS Food Drive and their Elves for Elders Christmas Tree.

We do this every year to help elders in our Community with Christmas, Contributions of food and house hold items is greatly appreciated.

We are collecting Blankets and Food Items for Christmas Bags.

We are also collecting Toys for Families in our area.

We are proud to announce that Lynchburg Women of the Moose Chapter 1335 will be competing in the 6th Annual Virginia Moose Heart of the Community Chili Cook-Off Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Twelve (12) Moose Teams from across the state are competing to be 'State Champions' in the 6th Annual Virginia Moose Association Chili Cook-Off.

Nine (9) VMA Districts, Two (2) Moose Legions, One (1) Women of the Moose Chapter.

The Public is invited to enjoy the day which includes, Car Show, Sporting Events, Kids Activities, Local Vendors, Games & Raffles, Food & Beverages available.

Thirteen (13) or more Local unique Vendors will be present selling handcrafts.

Sample the numerous Chili recipes, a limited amount of Chili will be available for sale.

The Winner will represent the Virginia Moose Association at the Moosehaven Chili Cook-Off November 9th, 2024 in Orange Park, Florida !

The Lodge will be hosting a recognition ceremony for all that served our country.

If you have self-identified with Moose International you will be receiving a pin and a certificate thanking you for your services. If you have not, we will help with your self identification process if you have not done it yet. This is a great time for all members to show their appreciation to all the vets in every branch of our military that were willing to sacrifice it all for our freedom.

Please put the 17th (a Sunday) on your list of activities this month. That will be the day that we, your Lodge welcomes our Newest Pilgrim Degree recipient, Brother Greg Kirby.

This is the Highest Degree of the order and the Fraternities way of recognizing a member that has given of himself and dedicated much of his time and efforts to further the growth and success of our Fraternity and all of our obligations to our

children and seniors.

This is an event that all fraternal members should experience at least once in their life. This ceremony is, sadly, one of the few traditional ceremonies still performed by the fraternity and in attending as well as taking part in the festivities helps shed a new light on what we are doing and why.

Please plan on attending. The lodge hall will open at noon with the ceremony starting at 1pm. A cocktail hour will follow as well as a banquet.

All 715 members are invited to attend.

Virginia Moose Association - Heart of the Community Car Show to be held during the State Chili Cook-Off Competition located at our neighboring Lodge, Lynchburg-South 1727.

715 Lynchburg Moose President Greg Kirby is coordinating the Car Show this year.

These training sessions help ensure an understanding of the rules, regulations and guidelines established by the Women of the Moose for a successful fraternal operation. The six-hour training sessions provide tools to assist the leaders of our chapters in their daily operations. Successful completion of this training helps our chapters qualify for the Award of Achievement and co-workers qualify for personal honors.
